About Bill McDermott & McDermott Design

Bill McDermott, a native St. Louisian, began his career when he opened his Graphic Design business in July of 1976.

After undergraduate work at Saint Louis University studying Psychology and Marketing he attended the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts where he came under the influence of design teacher, Robert Mulcahy, who had a keen grasp of logos, trademarks and the huge importance of an overall corporate identity to companies.

McDermott returned to St. Louis in 1972, and after stints at the Saint Louis University Athletic Department for Larry Albus and the St. Louis Stars of the NASL for Jack Galmiche he began McDermott Design in 1976.

Since then he has designed logos and trademarks, been involved in all phases of their implementation and consulted companies and organizations on the vital importance of a clean, organized identity in the sometimes complicated world of visual clutter.
